ART 260 Rate/Blockage Monitor

This spring I purchased an ART 260 Blockage Monitor from Agtron for my airdrill with 35 seed and 35 fertilizer runs.

It has saved me time and frustration because instead of crawling underneath and checking 70 runs each time I fill, I stop at the end of the field and simply clear the blocked run.

I also used to have blocked fertilizer runs at the manifold. Now instead of turning off the air and taking a wrench to remove the lid, I take a screwdriver and remove one hose and clear the line with a wire and the material blows out.

The count system allows me to approximate match the BU/acre that I am putting on. My fields now have no missing strips nor yellow strips due to fertilizer blocks.

The only complaint I had was with the operating manual, but they said they were revising it. (New manual has been completed).

Bottom line: I have "Peace of Mind" knowing my seed and fertilizer runs are not blocked!

4 Channel Shaft/Bin Monitor

The 4 Channel Shaft/Bin Monitor works really well for us and did what we wanted. We installed it on our press drill and it worked 100% for us. Before the shafts would stop because of a broken pin on a gear, or it would skip so you wouldn't know about it until you'd seeded.

We put three shaft sensors on our John Deere 9400 hoe drill, and the fourth sensor on the fertilizer pump shaft. I didn't have to worry about all the shafts not turning with the dust and all. Once the chain broke on the fertilizer pump, I hadn't gone ten feet when the 4 Channel Shaft/Bin Monitor went into alarm on channel #4. The sensitivity controls worked well too. I could set them just right and they wouldn't alarm when going around the corners. The 4 Channel was well worth the money and I wouldn't be without one.

I do custom combining and seeding. I've been using the Area Plus for about four years now and it works good and I've told other people about it. My neighbor uses the Area Plus on his manure spreader. I like having the two different acre totals, one for the whole year and one for the current client.

I use the Area Plus on my John Deere 6620 Combine, and do custom harvesting. The Area Plus keeps an accurate count on the acres I've harvested for my customers, so it keeps folks honest. I use the run-hold switch with the magnet mounted on the cylinder that lifts the header, so I'm only counting acres when the header is down. I like the Area Plus and I'm even thinking of buying another one this spring for my tractor.
